‘Cover’ Clock

Kroeger Clock no. 5883, ca. 1910 (MC0001)

Arthur Kroeger repaired this clock in 2001. He bequeathed it to the Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg, Manitoba, after his death.

  • Description Thirty-hour wall clock with pendulum and weight-driven movement, made by Kroeger Clockmakers in Rosenthal, Russian Empire (now Ukraine), ca. 1910, serial number 5883. Arched dial with a raised chapter ring is light with a single dark border around the perimeter. Arch has a decal of a gold scroll with a rose and a morning glory. Spandrels are gold scroll decals. Chapter ring is white with black Roman numerals and has white outer rings marking the minutes and quarter hours. Two hands; chain drive; two weights.
