‘Horn of Plenty’ Clock

Kroeger Clock no. 1989, ca. 1890 (MC0043)

This clock was repainted in Canada, possibly by the same person who repainted the Buhr-Regier Clock, MC0137 (see Kroeger Clocks, pages 115–116), at an unknown date. The clock was donated to Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada, by an unknown donor.

Arthur Kroeger restored this clock in 1990. He cleaned, polished, and adjusted the mechanism; polished the weights; restored the face, which had been badly corroded and discoloured, to its original appearance; and lengthened the chain.

Although the clock is dated 1898 on the dial, the serial number indicates it was made earlier than that.
